First Course

In the beginning....

Once upon a Friday, long, long, long ago, three Okie compadres felt the need for a staff conference. They didn't, however (and for reasons that shall remain obscure), feel the need to have that staff conference on the premises of their employment.

So, the three compadres began meeting at one or two local establishments for food and drink and bitch sessions employment related conversation.

Now, as such things are wont to do, over the years the nature of the gatherings morphed and evolved, eventually becoming what it is today - a Saturday brunch of regular and semi-regular attendees, good friends who enjoy conversation and bacon.

Los Bruncheros was born.

The weekly gathering is a semi-movable feast, trading spots from time to time within town, occasional treks the the big city and, on special occasions, are served up home-style around our kitchen tables.

At a recent gathering, a fellow bruncher opined about the lack of resources and dependable critiques for local dining experiences. Where's the best [fill-in-the-blank]? Is that new place any good? Another chimed in with thoughts on food experiences during travels, and yet another about recipes and cooking at home.

So - losbruncheros.com was created as a place where we could put it all in writing, share stories, picks and pans - anything related to food and the dining experience.

Welcome! We hope to have some fun and along the way become a source for local cuisine as well as eating experiences beyond the Oklahoma borders.
